The Process

Once your wedding date is secured, now it’s time to schedule an engagement session! We LOVE engagements!! The goal is for our Brides and Grooms to walk away with a better comfort level in-front of the camera. Engagement sessions are the perfect opportunity for the couple and the photographer to get to know each other better. Weddings are sometimes hectic, and you can lower your stress by already having a working relationship with your photographer, knowing in your heart that they are going to take care of you and capture your Big Day. In addition to getting to know your photographer and seeing how they work, you will get to see images of yourselves long before the wedding. The advantage of this is that you can let your photographer know ahead of time if there are shots or angles you don’t care for, and you can point out things that you do like. Remember, communication is key. Tip: Have your hair and makeup test completed on the same day as your engagement session. This way, you get to see how it looks in photos and let your stylists know if there’s anything you’d like to change.

Frequently Asked Questions

We are happy to work with our couples and create custom packages to try and work with everyone’s wedding day budget.

Do you travel for destination weddings?

Absolutely! We would LOVE  the opportunity to travel to photograph your wedding!

Do you work with a second photographer?

Of course! We shoot every wedding with a second photographer or an assistant in order to capture all the details of your special day.

Why should I consider a First Look?

First Looks are becoming more and more popular as more couples find that many parts of the “traditional wedding” don’t fit their modern lifestyles. You’re investing a lot into your wedding photography and with a first look, you get 40% MORE portraits of the two of you and you don’t have to keep your guests waiting after the ceremony.  They allow for a private moment between you and your fiancé to relax and unwind before the ceremony and remember why you are getting married to begin with. Read my blog post for more information on First Looks here.

How long does it take to receive my photos?

Our goal is between 4-6 weeks for weddings and 2-4 weeks for engagement and family portraits.

How many images do I get?

On average we deliver 600-1000 photos for full day of wedding coverage. This can and will fluctuate depending on the day’s events but that is our goal. Portraits are in the 50-100 photo range.

How do we book you?

Simply let me know you would like to book a photo shoot session, what dates work best for you and what type of session you are looking for through my contact page or email me at info@meaganbaileyphoto.com. For wedding photography please send me your date, venue location and I will send you the wedding contract with more information.

How can we pay you?

We accept checks and cash. Products and albums can be purchased by credit card through your own private online gallery.

Do you have backup gear?

Yes! We make sure we show up with all the necessary equipment to capture the big day.

How do I secure my date?

All we need is a 25% retainer and a signed contract.

Do you help me plan out our wedding day schedule?

YES! If you are working with a wedding planner, we will work with them closely to make sure we have enough photo time to ensure you will have a relaxed day with plenty of photographs. If you are not working with a planner, we will work together to create the best schedule. You can check out a sample wedding day timeline here on my blog.

Does sales tax apply to us?

Yes! If you reside and are getting married in Louisiana, we are required by the state to charge sales tax.

Do you edit all my images?

We like to keep our images “clean.” This means we want all the images to look as close to real life as possible. We don’t use heavy filters or heavy editing tools as our goal is to have your photos remain timeless.  I do however go through each image and adjust the lighting, contrast, tint and anything else that is necessary to help your image look beautiful.
